Running from 4 to 10 July, Catch the Bus Week is organised by sustainable transport group Greener Journeys, and urges people to try using the bus instead of their car for certain journeys.
Waving a giant green foam hand, Mr Zeichner will promote the social, economic and environmental benefits of catching the bus.
Five billion bus journeys are made annually in Great Britain, with one billion to or from work. Bus passenger journeys make up over two thirds of all public transport usage.
Daniel Zeichner MP said: “Encouraging more people onto buses is one of the ways to help tackle Cambridge’s congestion and help tackle pollution. In other parts of the country and the world, catching the bus is the obvious choice. So I would encourage people who don’t normally take the bus in Cambridge to give it a try here too.”
