MP’s Christmas card winner announced

A budding young artist from Colville Primary School is this year's winner of the Daniel Zeichner MP Christmas card competition.

Megan's card design

The MP will visit Colville Primary School, Colville Road, Cherry Hinton, Cambridge, tomorrow (Friday) to congratulate the winner.

After carefully judging thousands of entries, nine-year-old Megan's design of a festive Father Christmas flying his sleigh over Cambridge, saw off stiff competition to take the top prize. Runners up were Jamie (11) from The Grove Primary School, Jonah (6) from The Shirley and Ailsa (5) from Cherry Hinton Primary.

Daniel will present a certificate to Megan and a copy of the Christmas card in a socially distanced manner.

Now Megan's card is being sent to organisations, charities and businesses right across Cambridge and to many senior national politicians.

Daniel Zeichner MP said: "I was very impressed by the huge number of entries I received when I asked the children of Cambridge for help designing my Christmas card. 2020 has been a difficult year so seeing all those snowmen, reindeers, holly and elves really cheered me up and my office looks like a winter wonderland at the moment! Megan's design was excellent, I really liked the detail with all the Christmas lights decorating the houses and the wreaths on the doors."
