This guide covers the latest approaches for drug discovery companies wanting an update or launch of a recruitment strategy. The last of a series of Discovery Events deep dives into this further on 24 November 2022.
You should expect more than just an introduction from a recruitment agency. If your recruiter doesn’t understand who is right for your company, they won’t be able to find and match the right candidate … especially if they don’t know you, your team or your company. It’s important if you want the right fit.
To fill a role with a well-qualified, screened Biotech candidate a recruiter must understand:
- Your open role & how it fits into the company mission
- The structure around the role
- The growth opportunities available
- How it aligns with other internal & external roles
Use recruiters with transparent processes
Here’s a few pointers to protect your interests on this…
- Ensure agencies agree not to contact your people for other companies
- Brief agencies so they find well-qualified candidates & ensure service delivery
- Avoid liability for fees & terms you didn’t negotiate or agree to
- Avoid being invoiced from multiple agencies for the same placement
Set for success from the get-go
- Don’t just accept agency policies … it’s wise to have your own policy in hand so you agree things on your terms … not theirs
- Consider setting up an agency list
- Consider your options from the recruiter models out there: traditional recruiters (also called contingency), general LifeSci recruiters or more niche biotech specialists and retained recruitment partners who offer a different approach
- Novel recruiter models that offer added value services for e.g. pre-boarding to secure talent, help with relocation and more
Singular Talent will be doing a deep dive on all of this and more on what effective recruitment looks like in a free webinar for Biotechs (with or without HR professionals):
