PEM aids charities that support families with young children and new mothers

In June, the PEM Charitable Trust donated £150’s worth of baby food to Ely Baby Bank in Fordham. Ely Baby Bank are a Cambridgeshire-based community project offering a safe and friendly place for all families to access everything they need for babies up to 18 months old, completely free of charge.

Gemma, Ely Baby Bank Volunteer, has said:

“We are so grateful to the PEM Charitable Trust for their generous donation of baby food. The demand for basic baby items, including baby food and formula milk, is growing at a rapid rate. At the same time, prices continue to rise and many families find themselves unable to afford these essential items. Support from local organisations like PEM is what enables us to continue to provide a safe and friendly place for families with babies and young children to access everything they need when raising them, all free of charge.”

In early July, the PEM Charitable Trust also donated a grant of £450 to the Cambridge Breastfeeding Alliance. This will fund 5 face to face breastfeeding counselling sessions for new mothers.

Justine, Breastfeeding Counsellor, Cambridge Breastfeeding Alliance, has said:

“With the PEM Charitable Trust’s support, new families in the Cambridge area will get vital free skilled breastfeeding and emotional support and information in the early intense days of becoming new parents.”

If you know of a Cambridgeshire charity in need, please direct them to apply for funding via the PEM Charitable Trust page on our website.
