Cambridge: Redgate, the end-to-end Database DevOps provider, announces a major new scholarship in line with its long-standing commitment to both the database community and accessibility for its events. With support from Microsoft, a welcome initiative for PASS Data Community Summit 2024 has been launched: the Charitable Organization Scholarship.
Data professionals who work for a charity can now apply for a complimentary 3-day ticket to attend this year’s event, which is taking place November 4-8 in Seattle. The aim of the scholarship is to support professionals who work for organizations with limited learning and development budgets, enabling them to attend PASS Summit. The scholarship, worth over $41,000, will grant 16 complimentary 3-day tickets to individuals working in the charity sector, and applications are now open.
PASS Data Community Summit has been highly rated by the data community for decades, with 2024 marking the 26th anniversary of the event. Well known for equipping attendees with a huge amount of practical knowledge, last year’s event totaled 250 hours of content and experiences delivered by 224 speakers. This year’s event looks to surpass that as highest ever number of proposals for the Call for Speakers have been submitted.
Annabel Bradford, Head of Events at Redgate Software, said: “PASS Summit gives the data community unparalleled access to connect, learn and share, and we hear time and again of the value attendees gain from engaging with an international community of peers. Redgate wants to make this event as accessible as possible for as many as possible, and that’s why we, supported by Microsoft, have introduced this new scholarship. Those in the charity sector now have the opportunity to join the conference, learn and make connections that could last a lifetime. We can’t think of a better way to mark our 25th anniversary.”
“We’re delighted to unveil the brand-new PASS Summit Charitable Organization Scholarship for 2024. Both personally and as a representative of Microsoft, we are always keen to give something back to the community,” said Adam Saxton, Principal Program Manager at Microsoft.
“Attending and speaking at community events is a core part of our roles,” added Patrick Le Blanc, Program Manager at Microsoft. “Extending that support and opportunity to those working in the charity sector is a great way to broaden the reach of PASS Summit, and welcome new members to our rich community.”
Speakers for the PASS Summit 2024 pre-conference sessions were recently announced, with this year’s line-up including Anna Hoffman, Muazma Zahid and Bob Ward from Microsoft, well-known data community leaders, including Erik Darling, Kendra Little and Brent Ozar, and Redgate Advocates Ryan Booz and Grant Fritchey. Tickets are now on sale for this year’s event, and the program has recently been released. .
