Throughout the year Headway has continued its mission to improve the lives of people following a brain injury and this couldn’t be done without generous supporters and volunteers, so on behalf of all of their staff and clients – thank you.
At this time of year, whilst many of us are celebrating, there is a sharp rise in emergency admissions to hospital caused by an excessive consumption of alcohol. For instance hospital admissions related to alcohol increase by 377% on New Year’s Day.
Some of these admissions will be related to brain injuries. For these individuals this will be a life-changing event for them and their families.
That is why Headway Cambridgeshire is promoting ‘Rethink Your Drink’. They are asking people to cut down on their festive drinking by having one less drink during seasonal celebrations – whether that’s at a work party or a night out with friends – and then donating the cost of that drink – £5 – to Headway Cambridgeshire.
