Small firm internationalisation - let us help each other

Please help a research project UK Trade and Investment is running with The Wand Company and Warwick Business School...be benchmarked against the international business practices of others

If you are willing to take part in this research, then please Take the Survey

The growth and success of small and medium sized businesses, especially internationally, is of central concern to Britain’s economic climate. The UKTI is supporting research that is being conducted by Andrew Green (International Business Manager of  The Wand Company) and Professor Stephen Brammer (Warwick Business School).

Their work explores small businesses’ experiences of internationalisation; examining the challenges to identify the skills and support that underpin the success of British SMEs overseas.

The research will provide the most comprehensive insight into these issues yet available and UKTI would like to give Cambridge Network members an opportunity to participate and use your experience to help other UK firms with their international business.

The survey asks for your views on a variety of topics related to your firms’ international activities, and UKTI expects that it will take approximately 30 minutes to complete. In particular, the survey asks you to provide insights into the early development and growth of your company, especially in relation to its internationalisation, and your firms’ people and network of customers and suppliers.

By way of thanks you will be offered the chance to receive a summary report on "Best practice in Micro and Small firm Internationalisation: recommendations for success", to help your firm learn from the experiences of others. You will also have the option to have your firm’s international business practices evaluated by the UKTI, explaining how you compare to the average of other firms in your industry. In order to take advantage of these opportunities, please simply provide your contact details when offered the opportunity to do so at the end of the survey.
