Cambridge Sustainable Food says:
With the rising living costs, community organisations across Cambridge are reporting increases in the numbers of people seeking food support.
There are reports of people stealing food, going without to feed their children and people not able to use their cookers due to fuel cost increases.
With costs only set to rise further, we are all deeply concerned for the winter ahead and how our services will cope with the increased demand and reduced donations of food and money.
That is why with support from Cambridge City Council we've teamed up with Cambridge Food Poverty Alliance members to create the Cambridge Cost of Food and Living Crisis Fund, a city wide appeal to help us buy ingredients and slow cookers for those hit hardest by the cost of living crisis.
Together we are asking for donations from anyone who can help us to ensure people in Cambridge don’t go hungry this winter.
Any donations, however big or however small will be so greatly appreciated and go directly to support residents in Cambridge suffering hardship due to rising fuel and food costs.
