Registration is open for Cogwheel Counselling’s brand new event, the Cogwheel Cambridge Coronation Stride.
Created to mark Cogwheel’s 35th anniversary and the Coronation, the Stride is a 27-mile self-guided walk around the perimeter of Cambridge, with shorter options of 13 and 6 miles for walkers and runners, all taking place on Sunday 7th May as part of the Coronation weekend.
The Stride passes through a number of charming Cambridgeshire villages, using the historic River Cam as the spine of the walk, with Grantchester Meadows as its most southerly point before it rejoins the Cam past Stourbridge Common on the northern part of the route.
Full details, including an outline of the route and information on how to take part in this special community event, are on the event website.
Cogwheel Counselling is a Cambridge-based registered charity that provides counselling services in Cambridgeshire to individuals of all ages. The service includes supported affordable provision for those on lower and limited incomes. All entry proceeds from the Stride will go to help meet the cost of the event and support Cogwheel to continue its important work. Free entry is available for any walkers/runners who wish to obtain personal sponsorship for Cogwheel and can commit to a fundraising target of £100.
