For over a decade, the café has partnered with Matthew Algie, a 160-year-old coffee supplier, serving its triple-certified Elevator coffee blend. Every ingredient at Abantu, from coffee to tea and bananas, is fair-trade certified.
Daniel Zeichner praised the café, stating, "Café Abantu’s commitment to ethical sourcing is an inspiring example of small businesses making a global impact."
As Café Abantu celebrates 14 years, it hopes to remind customers that supporting fairtrade helps create a more equitable global trade system.
