It is no wonder they have appealed to so many: more than 2500 people from over 600 organisations have participated in the 40-plus events the Network has hosted to date. Further topics are on the horizon, designed to inform and educate –and to bring people together to interact in a virtual environment.
Starting almost the minute that lockdown was imposed, the diversity of the sessions – all of which have been delivered by Network members – highlights the wealth of talent and expertise to be found in our community. If you've missed any of the sessions, visit Cambridge Network's YouTube channel to catch up.
"As much as the webinars have provided valuable learning and insight for attendees on specific subjects, they have also underlined the multidisciplinary spectrum of knowledge and experience embodied in our wide membership," says the Network's events manager, Louise Rushworth.
"We've been surprised and delighted that so many of our members have come forward to share their experience and expertise. It's been a learning curve for many – including our own team! – who were unfamiliar with the subtleties of an online format, but everyone has coped well with the technological challenges.
"Obviously, we have missed our face to face events but there are advantages to going virtual. No one has to travel, so we've had people joining from all over, and the one hour slots are convenient, so you don't have to take too much time out of your day, whether you are working or not.
"For people who face an uncertain future, we've offered several helpful sessions, including a successful virtual jobs fair. That attracted more than 400 candidates, so we are repeating it next week, when the emphasis is on careers. Everyone who signs up can get a free Belbin Self-Perception Report and find out how to sell their individual strengths. Sign up for the Virtual Jobs & Careers Fair on Thursday 16th July here.
"We plan to continue the webinar series through the summer and beyond. For early notice of upcoming sessions, sign up to receive our events, training and news mailings, and keep an eye on this site."
