1. Who can apply?
Anyone with a bold idea to transform brain health. Whether you’re an engineer, scientist, clinician, or innovator from industry, if you’re ready to make an impact, this is for you.
2. What’s the difference between the Blue Sky and Frontier Fellowships?
Blue Sky is for “What If” thinkers exploring bold, speculative ideas. Frontier is for “How might” doers taking proof-of-concept ideas to the next level. Remember we will also be announcing a call for Blue-Sky-Proof-of-Concept Projects - get in touch to find out more.
3. Do I need to move to Cambridge?
Yes, but don’t worry—we’ll help by introducing you to Cambridge colleges that may be able to help with accommodation.
4. What’s included in the Fellowship?
A grant, funding for lab consumables, access to world-class mentorship, entrepreneurial training, and the chance to be part of an amazing, pan-UK neurotech community.
5. Do I need a neurotech background?
Not at all – If you’ve got an innovative idea in Neurotech and the passion to make it happen, we’d love to hear from you.
6. Can I apply if my idea isn’t fully formed?
Yes, Blue Sky Fellows can explore multiple “What If” ideas and refine them during the programme.
7. How do I know which Fellowship to apply for?
If your idea is still in the early stages, go for Blue Sky. If you’ve got proof-of-concept and are ready to scale, Frontier is your path. If you apply for an Frontier fellowship but we find that you fit better in a Blue Sky Fellowship, we will be sure to consider you for that.
8. When does the programme start?
Fellowships kick off in April 2025, but you must be able to start no later than May 2025.
9. What happens after the Fellowship?
We’ll equip you to continue your journey, whether you’re returning to your community, pursuing follow-up Fellowship on the programme, or scaling your idea globally.
10. How do I apply?
Please pick your Fellowship pathway, fill out the application, and show us why
