CfBI Microfluidics Consortium visits USA

The Microfluidics Consortium managed by CfBI visited the USA recently. The company plans to build on this success to hold regular meetings of the consortium in the USA as well as in Europe. A new cycle of the consortium starts in September.

During the visit, a closed meeting (members only) was hosted by Johnson and Johnson in their New Brunswick (New Jersey) global headquarters, while an open meeting, for invited guests as well, was hosted by the British Consulate in Boston.

Speaking at the open meeting Dr Phil Budden, Consul-General in Boston (pictured above), welcomed the Cambridge-led initiative which CfBI had taken in forming the microfluidics consortium and praised its global reach.

Dr. Peter Hewkin, CEO at Centre for Business Innovation, said that the success of the Microfluidics Consortium's visit to the USA would become a regular occurence, with the target of holding half the consortium's meetings in the USA and half in Europe in the coming year. He welcomed new members including: Invenios (California); Advanced Liquid Logic (North Carolina); National Research Council of Canada (Montreal) to the consortium.

The Microfluidics Consortium has the mission to grow the market for microfluidics enabled products and services. Its members come from all parts of the supply chain.

It is one of four currently live consortia which are managed by the Centre for Business Innovation. Follow this link for its Summer Briefing or visit www.cfbi.com
