Meteor Inkjet launches MetIndustrial: the ready-to-use DFE for manufacturing processes

Meteor Inkjet Ltd, leading supplier of industrial inkjet printhead driving solutions, further expands its software portfolio with the launch of MetIndustrial, a ready-to-use Digital Front End (DFE) specifically designed for industrial applications where printing is one element of the overall manufacturing process.

Industrial inkjet system developers, particularly those just getting started, face hardware, software and materials challenges.   In some cases, the software challenges can be resolved by adopting off-the-shelf or open-source tools, but when these tools are too costly, lack sufficient features, or are complex to implement, Meteor’s MetIndustrial is the optimal solution.

MetIndustrial is a ready-to-use DFE designed for industrial applications where printing is an element of the overall production process and motion control is external to the print system, i.e., motion control is provided either by a PLC or a system associated with, for example, the robotics.  With Meteor’s PrintEngine at its core, MetIndustrial responds to the motion of the industrial application rather than controlling it, easing incorporation with existing manufacturing processes.  Seamlessly integrated with Meteor printhead drive electronics, MetIndustrial is suitable for both prototype and production environments.  With an intuitive user interface, MetIndustrial offers functions including print queue control, job prioritisation and print process feedback while simplifying setup tasks for stitching, masking and interlacing.

Jonathan Wilson, Meteor’s Vice President of Business Development comments, “While it can be challenging to implement an industrial inkjet system within a manufacturing process, MetIndustrial, together with Meteor’s datapath solutions for all major printheads, allows OEMs to harness the power of inkjet in a way that reduces development cost, time and risk.  To discuss MetIndustrial or any other of Meteor’s complete line of scalable, production-ready electronics, software, tools and services, arrange a meeting with me at the International Manufacturing Technology Show (IMTS, stand 433128) in Chicago, 9 – 14 September.”
