The promotion, which runs from today (Monday 25th July) to Sunday 4th September, comprises six diverse itineraries for each of the six weeks of the holidays – suggesting things to do in Cambridge, complete with exclusive discounts and special offers.
Each itinerary recommends a child-friendly morning and afternoon activity, a discounted lunch venue and, where applicable, highlights if there is a play park or ice cream kiosk nearby.
Discounted attractions and restaurants include Visit Cambridge Guided Tours (10% off), Cambridge River Trips (10 % off), Round Church (20% off daily walking tour; 40% off church entry), Ta Bouche restaurant - Market Passage (15% discount), Don Pasquale restaurant - Market Square (10 % discount, lunch and dinner).
For each itinerary, it costs only £1 to park all day in the Park & Ride car park and up to three children can travel for free on the bus with every £3 adult bus ticket purchased. Families must present their Park & Ride ticket on the day in order to claim the restaurant and activities discounts on the same day.
The six summer itineraries - which have been put together in conjunction with Cambridge Business Improvement Development (BID) and Visit Cambridge & Beyond - are available to view online or download at www.parkandridedays.co.uk. Itineraries are also available from Park & Ride sites at Madingley, Babraham, Trumpington, Milton and Newmarket.
Shaun Harrison-Fuller, Park & Ride Team Leader, says: “This is a fantastic opportunity for families to come into Cambridge and explore the very many wonderful things the city has to offer.
“Fun and affordable days out are a win-win situation for both visitors to Cambridge and the plethora of shops and businesses located here.”
Zoe Paget, Operations Director of Stagecoach East, adds: “Our tailor-made itineraries represent affordable family fun, and offer some great ideas to help keep the kids entertained over the summer.”
