Data from the legacy site has been migrated across, so members will be able to log in with their existing user names and passwords. You can now post news, events and jobs (if signed up for the Recruitment Gateway) in the usual way, though you will find the user interface very different.
Although all members who have previously had access to the site can still log in and amend their own personal details ('My details'), only those who are dubbed the 'main contacts' for corporate members will initially be able to carry out certain tasks, such as editing the 'Company profile' or purchasing credits for Premium Jobs, Premium Events and Learning Collaboration courses, if relevant.
Every individual logging in will be able to see exactly who is in the system as their organisation's 'main contact' and it would be very helpful if users could inform the Network team if anyone listed as a 'main contact' is no longer with your company, so that records can be updated. (Please email editor@cambridgenetwork.co.uk in the first instance.)
Main contacts can also 'manage users' - that is, grant 'user rights' to colleagues. These give others in your organisation the opportunity to add or edit news or events material, for example. Such material can be drafted and saved for submission at a later date, or submitted immediately for publication. As in the past, the Network undertakes to publish newly added material within one working day.

Please take a few minutes to look around the site, to navigate your pages in the Members' Area ('My Cambridge Network') and familiarise yourself with the new processes.
"We realise that there may be a few teething troubles," said Hilary Laing, the Network's COO, “And we encourage our members to give us their feedback and comments: we will, of course, deal with any technical issues as quickly as possible. We will consider all the feedback that we receive as we proceed with the development of the site.
"Please bear with us as we continue to refine and develop functionality over the coming months, bringing together all the site's different elements. We're convinced that we will end up with a much better looking, sophisticated system that meets the needs of our members."
She added: "There is a possibility that we will be unable to issue a newsletter next week. Normal service will be resumed as soon as possible!"
